German Dentistry with a wisdom tooth removes back in Germany in Feb 2026

I have only seen this 3-4 times in my 30 yr career as a OMFS.

The infection then started in May after the 48 was removed 3 months ago. She had initial swelling again and infection which was much larger in the buccal space but it did not completely resolve with residual swelling as you can see in the pictures. Foreign bodies like tooth fragments and/or bone can cause a CHRONIC infection. Thus, this needs to be cleaned out carefully without injuring the facial nerve below the skin layer. The procedure will be done intraorally with a flap and surgical exploration and debridement. Maybe even needle aspiration form intraoral approach to see what comes out. Cultures and Biopsies maybe part of the protocol
