If you’re a pilot, a member of the flight crew, or just a frequent flyer, you might find it interesting to know that teeth discomfort during a flight is just as common as getting air pockets in your ears. Practicing good oral hygiene and having healthy teeth and gum, you might experience little to no discomfort. However, if you’ve gotten some dental work done on your teeth, you may find the answered FAQs below helpful:

1 - Do Dental Implants Set Off Metal Detectors?
Dental Implants are made of Titanium or sometimes ceramic, which are non-magnetic materials which means you have nothing to be concerned about.

2- Can I fly if I had a recent filling?
Overall, it is ok to fly after a filling, but if your procedure was deep and done near the nerves, it is recommended that you discuss it with your dental practitioner, and ask for their permission or tips.

3- Can I Fly After A Wisdom Tooth Extraction or Getting Dental Implants?
Normally, it is safe to fly after these procedures. However, there are some tips you can take into account for an easier recovery: a) If you feel drowsy due to the consumption of painkillers, it is recommended to let a day or two pass by before doing any activity that needs your full attention. b) Since planes tend to be very dry, you should know that the natural clotting ability of your body might change which can lead to some deferrings in the process of healing.
