Join us in welcoming Dr Aura to our Squad!!! 😃
Dr. Aura Manfio is a board-certified orthodontist and Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. She is dedicated to helping patients of all ages achieve healthy, confident smiles through individualized care. She finds it especially rewarding to see how an improved smile and bite can positively influence a patient’s confidence and quality of life.

Originally from Brazil, Dr. Aura completed her dental degree, specialty training, and Master of Science in Orthodontics there before moving to Canada, where she completed a fellowship in Craniofacial Anomalies at The Hospital for Sick Children. She has since pursued advanced training in orthodontics at the University of British Columbia and continuing education in Dental Sleep Medicine at Tufts University.

Dr. Aura believes that exceptional care begins with listening. She takes the time to understand each patient’s individual needs so that children, parents, and adults alike feel comfortable, informed, and actively involved throughout treatment. Having trained and practised in both Brazil and Canada, she brings a deep appreciation for cultural diversity to her work. She is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and also speaks some Italian.

Her clinical interests include early orthodontic intervention, facial growth and development, three-dimensional treatment planning, palatal expansion, and temporary anchorage devices, using both braces and clear aligners tailored to each patient’s needs.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Aura likes to stay active, travel, and spend time with family and friends. She enjoys playing tennis, riding horses, walking in nature and attending concerts.

Dr. Aura is delighted to be part of the Smile Squad team and looks forward to welcoming you and your family throughout your orthodontic journey toward your best smile!

This amazing 9 year old worked very hard with her myofunctional therapist to prepare her for tongue tie release. You can see in the before video that her tongue had some trouble elevating and when she did lift it, the whole floor of mouth elevated with the tongue. That gets pretty tiring! After the laser tongue tie release, her tongue was able to lift all the way up with ease while keeping her mouth open much wider than before! She still has to work to keep this range of motion and mobility but she’s well on her way to better function!

A sweet surprise for a very special member of our Squad!
Join us in wishing our amazing Dr. Yanny the BEST of luck as she makes her move to Montreal!
In such a short time, Dr. Yanny became such a loved, respected and truly valued part of our Squad. We’ve loved having her with us, and while we’re definitely not ready to say goodbye, we couldn’t be more excited to watch her continue her journey in the wonderful world of pediatric dentistry!
Dr. Yanny, we love you, we’ll miss you SO much, and we know Montreal is lucky to have you! 🥰

Vegas, AAPD, and the BEST Squad!
What a trip of a lifetime! From incredible learning and inspiration to nonstop laughs, unforgettable memories, and way too much fun!

So grateful we got to experience it all together. The conference was amazing… but the memories we made along the way were even better!

The parents of a sweet 2 year-old were concerned about her crossbite and wanted to try to treat it as soon as possible. We gave her a myofunctional appliance to wear at night. Dedicated parents and a very compliant child made this happen in six months!! She just turned three and is now crossbite free!!! Wahoo!!!!!!!

Are all 3 year olds this chill at the dentist? Absolutely not! But we LOVE getting them there!!! The secret sauce? 1) a squad that is truly dedicated to the experience 2) a space designed just for kids
3) providing kids with a sense of control 4) families who trust in the process 5) TVs on the ceilings!!!!
