Meet Brianna Blakemore, RDH, Myofunctional Therapist!

Brianna graduated from George Brown College’s Dental Hygiene Program in 2017.

Over the years, her focus has shifted to catering to clients with dental anxiety, screening for sleep disordered breathing, recommending assessment for potential early-interception orthodontics, conventional and natural/holistic based options for oral hygiene backed by evidence-based research, and eventually diving into the area of myofunctional therapy.

Having gone through therapy both as a client and receiving training to provide myofunctional therapy, Brianna has received valuable insight on both sides to help guide clients to optimal results through myofunctional therapy and traditional dental hygiene services.

Craniosacral Therapy, also known as Cranial Sacral Therapy or CST, is a form of complementary therapy that focuses on the manipulation of the craniosacral system. Victoria Day marks the birthday of Queen Victoria, who was born on May 24, 1819.

She was the monarch when Canada became a country in 1867, making this holiday a celebration of our early nationhood.

Over time, it’s also become known as the unofficial kickoff to summer — hello long weekend, fireworks, and May Two-Four vibes!

Celebrated on the Monday before May 25, it's one of Canada’s oldest holidays.

Humans are engineered to breathe through their noses, which means you should be able to eat and breathe at the same time.

If your child eats loudly, gasps for air, or chews with their mouth open, they're likely a mouth breather!

Other signs can include:
* snoring, grinding teeth, or restless sleeping
* frequent cavities despite good dental hygiene
* waking up tired, irritable, and/or getting hyper during the day

These can all be signs of disordered breathing — something that affects far more than just eating!

A myofunctional assessment can uncover the root cause. Myofunctional therapy can help your child breathe, sleep, and feel better 🙌

Do you know what costs more than dentistry?

Disease and dysfunction. ALWAYS.

At our clinic, we make preventive dental care and myofunctional therapy more accessible… not by cutting corners or offering bargain-bin discounts, but by giving you direct access to a registered dental hygienist and myofunctional therapist.

Don’t have benefits? Visiting a dental pro regularly is worthwhile investment; and it’s not just about how your smile looks. You’re also protecting your well-being and overall health!

Have benefits? Amazing! In most cases we can submit on your behalf helping you skip the paperwork so your insurance company can reimburse you directly.

PSA; most (if not all) benefit plans offer coverage that doesn’t take your individual needs into consideration. In some cases your recommended treatment may exceed your benefits, and other times you may have more coverage than you need!

Interested in booking a consult or a dental hygiene visit? Book online 24/7 on our website!

Did you know your lip is a teeth cleaner?

We have a lot of self cleaning mechanisms in our mouths as long as our mouths develop properly. When the upper jaw is extended too far down in a “gummy smile”, the upper lip doesn’t close.

This means it’s not helping to sweep and clean these teeth. It also allows opportunistic bacteria to create more plaque which leads to inflammation (aka gingivitis).

“For patients, the message is empowering: small, consistent actions matter. Effective daily oral hygiene, regular professional care, balanced nutrition, and managing overall health all contribute to reducing inflammation, not only in the mouth but in the entire body…”

When we think about oral health, we often focus on plaque, cavities, and brushing habits. But beneath the surface lies a powerful biological process that connects the mouth to the rest of the body: inflammation.
