Part 2: There's nothing harder for a dental lab to do than match the shade of a front tooth. That's why we trust to match the colour and the character of our patient's natural tooth. All it took was a quick trip to the lab so the lab technician could take some photographs and find the correct shade in order to get that perfect match. Quick and easy! Now he's working away on the permanent crown to help give our patient her most natural and beautiful smile yet! Prepping the tooth for the temporary crown!
We began a special case with one of our patients today. Here's what she has to say about it so far: "When I was about 15 years old I took a bad hit to my front tooth while playing in a basketball game. I'd taken hits before while playing so I thought nothing of it until a few days later when I woke up to find my tooth almost black and extremely sensitive. I immediately went to my dentist to have a root canal performed. I had always heard horror stories about root canals but it was quick and painless with no complications. My dentist then whitened the tooth but informed me that due to the root being dead it would always be dark near my gums on that tooth and I'd eventually need a crown. I've finally decided to move forward with the crown and began the process today, spending about an hour in the chair while my dentist prepped the tooth, matched the tooth shade, and prepared a temporary crown. The entire process was completely painless and so easy. I'm already so pleased with the results and can't wait to get the permanent crown put in and get my smile back!"
