Although our daily cleanliness and hygiene practices already meet Health Canadaโ€™s standards of routine practices of infection control, weโ€™ve taken steps to help ensure both you and our employees are protected from the risk of infection and communicable diseases. Before your visit, you will be asked some COVID-19 screening questions. You will be asked to fill out and sign an online form when visiting the office to confirm your health. A mask will be required for every visit. Your temperature will be taken and you will be asked to wash your hands or use the hand sanitizer. Physical distancing is practiced and appointments are scheduled in a way to avoid or limit direct, face-to-face interaction with others . All adult patients will be required to make their dental visit alone unless otherwise necessary or instructed. Our team will be using full personal protective equipment (PPE)including N95 masks, face shields and gowns. Our Office is proud to provide an environment of clean air for all of our patients and staff. We use HEPA filter air purifiers that can absolutely help reduce the risk of airborne transmission of COVID-19. Weโ€™ve increased our environmental cleaning practices
โ€ข Weโ€™re installed additional antiviral products, such as hand sanitizer, throughout the office.
โ€ข Our employees have been trained in preventive and reactive measures as recommended by Health Canada.
โ€ข Our dedicated Team has been proactively meeting to monitor the level of risk associated with COVID-19 and ensure the procedures weโ€™re implementing are appropriate and communicated to our employees and patients.

Some soon-to-be mothers might have some reservations about visiting the dentist while they are expecting. This could not be further from the truth.

In fact, it is recommended by dentists that mothers should keep their regular check-ups during their pregnancy because hormone levels rise while a mother is expecting, and these hormone levels can cause gums to swell or bleed.

Maximize your dental benefits before Dec 31 or you will lose them.

Many people with dental benefits get them through their employers. Many insurance companies have a benefit deadline of December 31, and this means that any of your unused benefits donโ€™t roll over into the New Year for most dental plans. Be sure to check with your employer and schedule an appointment today to maximize your benefits.

Braces are a way for many people to get the smile they desire. However, braces have often been misconstrued to be something children and teens have to deal with as a part of growing up. This is not true.

More and more adults are starting to see the benefit of having braces. If you didnโ€™t get braces as a child or your teeth have shifted over time, straight teeth can still be achieved at any age. Options like Invisalign are also available to straighten your teeth without the look of braces.

Oral cancer is a disease that occurs when abnormal cell growth takes place anywhere in/on the mouth or throat.
Unfortunately, oral cancer is on the rise โ€“ and today, risk factors go beyond being a heavy to***co user.

Every time you visit the dentist for a bi-yearly check-up, the dentist performs a brief oral cancer screening.
This involves examining the lips, tongue, inside of the mouth and throat for any suspicious lesions or lumps.
You may not even know your dentist is performing this screening because itโ€™s so quick and painless, but they are!

Teeth whitening is a popular service and many people take steps to brighten their smile.

Around 18-52% of people are not happy with the colour of their teeth. That said, a pearly white smile is NOT necessarily an indicator of healthy teeth.

The natural colour of teeth changes from person to person. Instead of basing health on the colour of your teeth, dentists look for indicators like fresh breath and zero cavities to determine your overall oral health.

โ“Is periodontal disease a risk factor of Covid-19?

We are here to help!

It is a common misconception that your oral health is independent from your overall health. However, oral health is an integral part of your systemic health and our role in evaluating, diagnosing, preventing and treating oral diseases as professionals deem our services necessary to operate through this pandemic and other disasters!

Did you know thatโ€ฆ
Gum disease is linked to a host of illnesses including heart disease, diabetes, RESPIRATORY disease, osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis?

And that people with gum disease were twice as likely as others to die from a heart attack and three times as likely to have a stroke?

Recent studies have shown Coronavirus patients who have been hospitalized are more likely to suffer from respiratory failure if they had periodontitis before contracting COVID-19.

Gum disease has been linked to other breathing ailments, including pneumonia and chronic pulmonary disease, so researchers werenโ€™t surprised to find a link to respiratory problems with COVID-19!

Fewer than 1% of dentists nationwide were estimated to be COVID-19 positive, according to an American Dental Association.

Lets work together for a healthy and safe tomorrow!

To maintain optimal oral health it is recommended to have a cleaning and checkup every 4-6 months. Aside from feeling clean and fresh our trained health care professionals check for abnormalities, oral cancer, periodontal disease and decay in the mouth.

โ“Myth or Fact?

Fact: You should actually use a soft-bristle brush for cleaning your teeth. Brush your teeth twice a day with an ADA-accepted fluoride toothpaste. Replace your toothbrush every three or four months or sooner if the bristles are frayed. A worn toothbrush wonโ€™t do a good job of cleaning your teeth.
