Are you drinking the recommended 6-8 glasses of water 💦 a day? If not, you may have a dry mouth.

Having a dry mouth can impair the production and flow of saliva. This is bad because saliva aids in cavity prevention by diluting the acid in our food 🍔and drinks 🥤 , as well as buffering against the acids we consume. People who are taking many medications are more prone to this condition.

Dental care is important during pregnancy since you will be going through hormone changes and morning sickness, which can negatively affect your oral health.

For routine cleanings, not only is it completely safe to see the dentist during pregnancy but it is even recommended so that pregnancy gingivitis can be kept under control.

While some non-urgent treatment can (and in many cases should) be delayed, urgent issues like toothaches and abscesses should be addressed immediately, as these may pose a risk to both your health and your baby's health.

Chewing on ice 🧊 puts your teeth at an increased risk of chipping and cracking. 🥶As a result, you may experience increased sensitivity to hot or cold, or even to biting and chewing. Many times, these cracks or chips do not cause any pain; however, if they extend too deep, the compromised tooth may require a root canal or an extraction.

These problems can also be made even worse by the action of clenching or grinding your teeth, so be careful!

If you cannot control your urge to chew on ice, speak to your doctor, as this may be a sign of iron deficiency.

Our first face behind behind the mask 😷

Meet Dr. Seitz (aka Dr. Rob). To get to know him a bit better we asked him the following questions.

Q: What is your favourite emoji?
A: Unquestionably, 🤠

Q: What is your dream vacation?
A: My wife and I are hoping to finally make it to New Zealand for our honeymoon after getting married in 2020.

Q: What celebrity do you shamelessly follow?
A: I’m a huge tennis fan, so I pay a little more attention to Roger Federer.

Q: What do you like to do when you’re not in the office?
A: I always prioritize spending time with my family, including my goofy, stubborn but loving dog. I also love to ski, try crazy recipes on the BBQ and watch documentaries.

Q: What was your first job?
A: In high school I did a bit of math tutoring, and was a bus boy at a sports bar. A very different sleep schedule from the one I have now.
