The office opened in June, 1981. It started with Dr. Francis and one receptionist/assistant. Before long, a second certified dental assistant was added, followed a few months later by a part time dental hygienist. As time went by and things got busier, the hygiene department went to full time, being split between two part time dental hygienists. Some of the innovations the office experienced inclu
ded the cosmetic revolution spawned by the development of powerful light curing technology and sophisticated, life-like tooth colored materials. Other cosmetic services which were adopted were ceramic veneers and tooth whitening. Crown and bridge services (the restoration of missing and broken down teeth) became more cosmetic with newer materials, as well as the restoration of root form implants. To assist with cosmetic services where teeth are misaligned, the office has been offering fixed and removable orthodontic services for over 25 years. The office has always prided itself on being able to offer a wide range of services, including children’s dentistry, hospital dentistry, geriatric dentistry, prosthetics (dentures), periodontics (bone and gums), endodontics (root canal) and TMJ (jaw joint) therapy. Adjunctive services include sedation dentistry for nervous or fearful patients using nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or sedative medications. Sleep apnea is recognized as a severe health problem in a significant portion of the population and is strongly related to cardiovascular disease. The office can now offer oral appliance therapy as required following diagnosis at a sleep clinic. Thanks to their kind, attentive manner, patients are treated like family. Our newest shining star is Dr. Mehrsa Dibadin. She graduated at the top of her class and started as the associate dentist in June 2014. Her competence and caring manner are a perfect fit for the philosophy of this practice.
