We want to advise that unfortunately we have a technical issue today and had to close. We are temporarily unable to contact our valued patients affected because of the issue due to unavailability of tech support. We hope to have this fixed today but please call the office if you have a scheduled appointment today Apr 20 or tomorrow Apr 21. Sincere Apologies for the inconvenience and personal contact. Dr J was working on this until 3am attempting to get the information so we could advise the affected appointments but it needed tech support. We hope to have it resolved today. We are excited to welcome Dr. Priya Patel to our team at Dr. Rob Joseph’s Dentistry. Dr. Patel completed her dental degree in India before moving to Canada, where she pursued further studies in public health at Cape Breton University. She then successfully completed the equivalency process and obtained licensure through the National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB), enabling her to practice dentistry in Nova Scotia. Dr. Patel is deeply committed to patient-centred care. She believes that understanding each patient’s unique concerns, priorities, and comfort is the foundation of effective dental care. For her, building trust, listening carefully, and providing thoughtful guidance are just as important as any procedure. She strives to create a calm, respectful, and supportive environment where patients feel confident and cared for. Having lived in Cape Breton for the past seven years, Dr. Patel feels connected to the community and is passionate about serving its !
residents. Outside the clinic, she enjoys painting, reading, and exploring Cape Breton’s scenic hiking trails. Hello everyone, I saw a couple of new messages about people not able to get through to the office, my apologies. We made some changes previously, however there was still an issue which I found and things should be corrected for good now. Again my apologies, as this was our "second line" so calls were not being put through to that line, so sent to voicemail. All VM is now going to one mailbox so everything should be fixed, Our email is [email protected] if you still have any issues, please let us know. The main # 9025390099 can accept texts, so if you can't reach by phone, you can text. I will update with other phone #'s that are direct lines to reception for calls and texts.

I just want to apologize for those that didn't hear back from us. I'm Very sorry that that happened. To me it is very disrespectful, although that was not the intent at all. I hope you can forgive our oversight, and please know this wasn't anything personal, it did affect quite a few people. First it was after hours, this time it was the second line. Where we get many calls, they are sent to both reception phone lines (which they should have before) so we can better take your calls.

If you are still in need, or need an appointment please reach out. We do have openings coming up for those of you who didn't have their call or calls returned. I'm very sorry, as this was a technical issue, not personal. However I appreciate it can feel personal.

Now that I have most everyone updated on the status of their cases, except the clear aligners! I spent the weekend rebuilding the computer to run the software for the aligners, so that's coming soon. In the meantime we are accepting new patients, and we do offer wisdom tooth extractions usually with IV conscious sedation (16 & up). We offer sedation for other tooth extractions, and even cleanings if that is what's necessary for good oral health.

We have taken on a lot of new processes in the last few years, and now that they are refined, we are now accepting new patients for limited treatment (Wisdom tooth removal, implant surgery/placement, implant dentures, implant crowns and multi tooth fixed "dentures"(made of high end ceramic).

No referral is necessary, so self referral is fine, we ask that you contact the last dentist you saw for a jaw x-ray and send it to us before your appointment, that helps me assist you better. Otherwise we can get the image that day, it's just not proper to either have no radiograph, or to do a second radiograph when you've had one recently.

I will be sending out a letter to local dentists as I will be accepting limited referrals for implant placement or aligners (eg. invis@lign). This could mean less wait time for some especially with implant placement. If you'd rather get started soon just reach out. I have 3 major manufacturers that make the implants I place, and if you were referred, we ensure your dentist has the tools and information they need to restore on any of our implant systems. The manufacturers are very kind to enable this to provide more options here on the Island.

With sadness I am sharing that my father passed away peacefully on Fri June 27. I do not normally share personal posts, but I have extended family and those that knew my Dad that would want to know this information for which I don't have contact for, and due to the holiday the notice in the paper is delayed. I am the person responsible for dealing with my father’s final arrangements and personal affairs but as always I will do my best to work around the Clinic schedule. I appreciate your patience at this time, as always….

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Saini is now accepting new patients in both Sydney and Glace Bay. To schedule an appointment, please contact our Sydney office at 902-539-0099 or our Glace Bay office at 902-849-4040. We are also delighted to be expanding our services in Glace Bay to include weekly visits. Please note that there may be some exceptions over the next month due to holidays and prior commitments, but we anticipate increasing our services based on demand. We accept the CDCP and have availability for denture appointments in Glace Bay. Notably, we manufacture our own dentures, eliminating delays associated with outsourcing to commercial labs, which are often backlogged due to high demand.
