This nine year old boy took an unlucky baseball to the teeth, resulting in three complicated crown fractures. ⚾️😣 Fortunately, he was able to recover all three of the fractured incisal segments which were bonded back on following root canal therapy.

Truss access, Five canals, Pulp horns filled. 👀 For an otherwise routine case, decided to challenge myself and make things more complicated just to conserve a bit more dentin.

It is not often that we can get a patient back in for a long term recall. But it is nice to see the outcome, good or bad. This was a 10 year old boy who presented with a facial swelling originating from a necrotic and immature lower first premolar. Regenerative endodontic therapy was performed with the hope of continued root development. At today’s nine year recall, we would have loved to see more root wall thickening, but at least the tooth has remained asymptomatic and the bone has regenerated (even into the canal!) 🤷🏻‍♂️

We don’t see silver points much anymore these days. Fortunately we were able to retrieve all three without any of them breaking. 🙂

It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these, but you never know when you need to reach for the super glue. Successful retrieval of a separated instrument in the MB2 canal of tooth 26 this morning. Etch tip and glue. The assist goes to our next door neighbor, Monarch Orthodontic Centre - Surrey, as we were actually out of said super glue. 🤦🏻‍♂️
