Let’s break down the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) and how it may apply to you!

This program has made dental care more accessible for many Canadians, and for the right patients, it can be a helpful way to stay on track with treatment.

Here’s a closer look at how it works:

✅ You must apply and be approved through the Government of Canada
✅ Eligibility is based on household income and insurance status
✅ Coverage is not always 100% — a portion of treatment may still be your responsibility
✅ The amount covered depends on your income bracket
✅ Not all procedures are included under the plan
✅ Fees are based on CDCP guidelines, which may differ from standard office fees

Because of this, two patients with CDCP may have very different coverage and out-of-pocket costs.

Our role is to help you understand exactly what your plan includes, what your portion may be, and how to prioritize treatment in a way that supports your long-term oral health.
