Children laugh before they can talk. Smiles and laughter are some of the earliest ways babies try to communicate with the world around them. And as children get older, they still smile and laugh hundreds of times every day. That’s why it’s so important to keep their teeth healthy!

Contact us today to make an appointment for your child. We promise we’ll make them laugh. ;-)

For big kids, teens, and adults, avoid using as much toothpaste as you see in an ad! Too much foam can trigger you to stop brushing before the two minutes are up since you’ll need to spit sooner. Toothpaste the size of a pea should be sufficient to get enough foam to thoroughly clean your mouth.

Ever wondered the difference between a dental bridge and an implant? Dental bridges replace a missing tooth by attaching the bridge to the surrounding teeth using crowns or wings. They are a lower-cost solution and a good option if the patient has experienced bone loss where the tooth is missing. However, bridges cannot prevent further bone loss. They can cause strain on the neighbouring teeth and may need to be replaced periodically.

A dental implant is a titanium screw placed in the bone with an abutment and crown attached. The implant integrates with the bone for a stronger, more natural functionality and can prevent bone loss. Because it stands alone, it doesn't cause strain on the neighbouring teeth. A dental implant is also a longer-term solution for missing teeth with many implants lasting a lifetime. However, implants cost more than bridges and sometimes are not covered by insurance.

Deciding between the two options can be tricky, so we offer to review all information with patients and look at any insurance policies to help them make an informed decision. Book a consultation today!

Researchers have found that people wearing traditional dentures or have not replaced missing teeth have a higher risk for malnutrition because it’s more difficult to chew fruits, vegetables, nuts, and meat. This means they sometimes avoid these nutritious foods. If you suspect this is a problem, please talk to us about dental implants. They’re a strong, long-term solution that lets you eat anything you’d like — even steak, apples, and corn on the cob!

Dental sealants offer a thin barrier of protection against cavities. Sealants can be applied to the chewing surface of molars and premolars as soon as the adult teeth come in, and can last for several years.

No two smiles are exactly alike, so we work with our patients to come up with a dental exam and hygiene visit schedule based on their individual needs. Our goal is to see you regularly, but only as often as your personal oral health needs indicate. An appointment takes only 30-60 minutes to complete, and you’ll leave our office with gleaming teeth and that fresh-from-the-dentist feeling.
