Update on office closure COVID-19 Pandemic

U Smile Dental Hygiene continues to be committed to the health and safety of our patients, team and local communities. Our office will remain CLOSED until May 19th following the state of emergency.

As new information is being released ongoing this may affect our reopening date as further direction is communicated by the Ontario Government along with our regulating body The Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.

The Royal College of Dental Surgeons strongly recommended these strict measures to slow the spread of Coronavirus. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

It's National Dental Hygienists Week! Lets celebrate all the hard working registered dental hygienist who make a difference in our lives everyday!
A registered dental hygienist is a licensed dental professional, registered with a regulatory body within their country of practice. They are a primary healthcare professional who works independently or alongside dentists and other dental professionals to provide full oral health care. They have the training and education that focus and specialize in the prevention and treatment of oral disease. They can choose to work in a range of dental settings from independent practice, private practice, specialists practices to public sector; and can also work in residential aged care facilities. Dental hygienists have a specific scope of clinical procedures they provide to their clients. They assess a client's condition in order to offer client-specific preventative and educational services to promote and maintain good oral health. The use of therapeutic methods assists their clients in controlling oral disease, while providing tailored treatment plans that emphasize the importance of behavioral changes.

Several dentists have asked the College how much lead time they will receive when clinics may be safely reopened for non-emergency work.

We are sorry to inform everyone that because of the seriousness of the Covid 19 pandemic we will be cancelling Gift from the Heart 2020. Any medical supplies donated by suppliers and the Gift from the Heart organization will be donated to the Norfolk General Hospital where they are needed. We urge any other Gift from the Heart participants to donate their supplies to their local hospital as well.

Please be advised that per directive of our regulatory body, The Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, we will be suspending all elective, non-essential services until the first week of April 2020.

We are able to schedule appointments for emergencies only at this time. If you have an appointment scheduled within the next few weeks a receptionist will be in touch to reschedule.

On Saturday April 04, 2019 we will be participating in our 4th consecutive Gift from the Heart!
Gift from the Heart is where Registered Dental Hygienists all across Canada will open their hearts and clinics to provide oral health care to the public who may be financially unable to receive dental hygiene care or who have difficulty accessing dental hygiene treatment; at no cost.
We will be providing no cost services at Dr.Janushewski & Associates in Simcoe ON.
