I often hear parents say, “I’m not sure how my toddler will react to their first dental visit.”
That’s completely normal! A first visit can feel unfamiliar, but a little preparation can help make the experience more comfortable, positive, and even fun.

A few things that can help:
💬 Talk about the dentist in a positive, friendly way
📖 Read books or watch short videos about going to the dentist
🎭 Play “dentist” at home and practise opening wide
🧸 Bring their favourite toy or comfort item
👩‍⚕️ Choose a dentist who is comfortable working with little ones and knows how to go at their pace
And remember—if there are tears, that’s okay too. Not every child feels comfortable right away. We often see little ones go from nervous or upset during their first visit to walking in with a big smile the next time.
Every visit helps build familiarity, confidence, and trust.

Kids should be brushing their teeth for 2 full minutes, twice per day. We made a 2 minute timer for kids to brush their teeth to, once two minutes is up, the volcano will explode! 🪥🌋
