Hello, this is Dr. Chung posting again after some time.
As most of you know, I have become a father since January 2022. Time for sure flies when I have more responsibilities at home. My son, Nathan, is already 8 months old!
As Nathan grows, he requires more and more attention from me. I also feel obliged to spend more time with my family, so that I can share more responsibilities taking care of them. As a result, in order to achieve a fine balance between my family obligation as a father/husband, and my professional obligation as a dentist providing quality care to my patients, I have to make the difficult decision of changing our operating hours to the following.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday – regular appointments are available from 9am to 6pm (last regular appointment will be at 5:30pm). Time from 6pm to 7pm will be reserved for same-day emergencies (such a pain and infection control). When you call in to seek urgent care and there are no same-day time slots from 9am to 6pm, we will assess your situation and see if we can put you into the 6pm to 7pm time slot.
Wednesday, Saturday – regular appointments are available from 9am to 3pm (last regular appointment will be at 2:30pm). Similar as above, time from 3pm to 4pm will be reserved for same-day emergencies. In addition, time after 3pm on Wednesdays will be available for larger procedures/surgeries (such as implants, multiple crowns or bridge preparations, difficult root canal therapies that requires longer appointment length). Again, we will assess your case individually to see if we can put you into the post-3pm time slot.
Lastly, whenever possible, we will be closed on the Saturday that is within a long weekend.
These policies will be enforced after my extended leave from October 8 to October 16. Existing appointments that are beyond these policies will still be fulfilled, in order to minimize the impact of these changes.
The new operating hours are set up so that I do not have to return home too late during weekdays, and I can run some errands/spend more time with my family during Wednesdays and weekends. I am fully aware that some of you may feel disappointed that I cannot provide late after-hour appointments anymore. Nevertheless, my responsibilities as a father/husband are just as important as taking care of my patients. I apologize for any inconveniences caused and I beg for your understanding regarding these changes.
