COVID-19 Update - May 21, 2020

Dear Patients,

We are very happy to announce that we are slowly reopening our office to resume seeing patients on Wednesday, May 27th after our closure due to COVID-19. We are in the process of calling patients whose appointments were cancelled in the past two months to book a new visit. We ask for your patience and understanding as it will take some time to get everyone rebooked.

If there is something broken or poking, please call our office to book a sooner appointment. For patents in Invisalign, if you are running out of aligners please contact our office to pick up your next box of aligners or to set up an appointment for a new scan so that we can order you more aligners.

We have been working hard to enhance our protocols following guidelines from the College of Dental Surgeons of BC and the BC CDC to protect our patients and team members. We will be implementing the following changes around the office:

o There is a new COVID-19 screening questionnaire and consent form that you will need to fill out prior to your appointment. This form will be emailed to you before your appointment.

o We are asking for only the scheduled patient to come into the office and to have parents, guardians, siblings, and friends wait in the car or elsewhere. If the patient needs a parent/guardian to accompany them, we ask that only one parent/guardian come in the office with the patient.

o Please wear a mask to your appointment. If you do not have a mask, we can provide one.

o Please brush before you come for your appointment. The office brushing area has been closed.

o Please use the provided hand sanitizer upon entering the office.

o Once in the clinic, patients will be asked to rinse with a disinfectant mouth rinse.

o Please try to follow social distancing and keep your distance from other patients in the office.

o We are limiting the number of patients each day to minimize the number of people in the office at one time and to allow greater time between patients

o We would appreciate at least two days notice for any appointment changes, but if you are feeling unwell or have been exposed to someone with symptoms, please call our office and we would be happy to help reschedule you.

We may be modifying our procedures as we receive additional guidance from our provincial regulatory agencies. We are looking forward to seeing you all again soon. Thank you again for all of your patience during these times.

COVID-19 Update - May 7, 2020

Dear Patients,

The BC Premier announced yesterday that dental offices are expected to be allowed to reopen starting mid-May. We are waiting for further clarification from the College of Dental Surgeons (the provincial dental regulatory agency) before we can start rebooking patient visits. We are also waiting for new guidelines regarding PPE and how to keep patients and team members safe in this post-COVID environment. Once we have more information, we will provide updates on when we can reopen and our new office protocol and procedures. Over the next few weeks, we will call all patients waiting for an appointment and who had their appointment cancelled due to COVID to rebook a new time for you. COVID-19 Update - April 13th, 2020

Dear Patients,

Our office will remain closed for the rest of April and our plan is to tentatively re-open at the beginning of May. All appointments for the rest of April will be cancelled and we apologize for the inconvenience. The College of Dental Surgeons of BC (the provincial dental regulatory agency) still holds their recommendation that all non-emergency dental visits be canceled for patient safety. We need to wait for them to change their guidance before we can resume patient visits. If in-person visits are still not allowed once we re-open, we plan to check in on our patients in treatment via telephone and video calls. Once the office re-opens, we will call patients whose appointments were canceled to reschedule. If you require urgent and immediate assistance, please email our office or you can get the phone number of the doctor on call from our office voicemail message. We will do our best to try and help you!

COVID-19 Update - March 27th, 2020

Dear Patients,

The office remains closed at this time and unfortunately we will need to cancel all appointments scheduled for the next two weeks (March 30 - April 10). The College of Dental Surgeons of BC continues their recommendation that "all elective and non-essential dental services should be suspended" for patient safety due to COVID-19. We will provide more updates as we know when we will be allowed to reopen and resume seeing patients.

For patients in Invisalign aligner treatment, we will be checking your plans to see if you can continue on with your next box of aligners without an in-person visit and will reach out to those individual patients to arrange a time to get your next set of aligners if applicable.

We are still available by email ([email protected]) to answer questions but our response time may be slower than usual. For the safety of our team members, no one is going into the office and our office phone line and voicemail is currently not being answered. Once the office re-opens, we will contact you if your appointment was cancelled to rebook you for another time. We will continue to send updates via email and also post them to our page.

If you require urgent and immediate assistance, please email our office or you can get the phone number of the doctor on call from our office voicemail message. We will do our best to try and help you!

Our thoughts go out to all families affected by COVID-19, all workers at essential businesses keeping our city running, and our frontline healthcare workers that are out there saving lives. I hope everyone is all staying safe!

Dear Patients,

I apologize if you have received multiple emails from our office with conflicting information. Our email newsletter service was severely delayed because so many other dental offices were sending out coronavirus email updates. Some of our earlier coronavirus emails written a few days ago are only being sent out now. We have since changed email newsletter providers and resolved this issue. Our office remains closed for the rest of this week and we will reassess and announce when we will reopen with limited service. We will contact you to reschedule your appointment once we reopen.
