Dear Patients,
We are pleased to announce that we are officially open for routine care that includes check-ups and dental cleanings. We want to inform you about some of the precautions that have been implemented:

β€’ All patients are being screened using a Covid-19 Screening Assessment one day prior to their appointment and again upon arrival at the entrance of our clinic. We are happy to reschedule appointments for those patients who are unwell.
β€’ All patients are required to wear a mask to/from their appointment. The mask is only removed during the procedure.
β€’ Upon arrival, all patients are required to sanitize their hands and we are taking every patient’s temperature using a contactless thermometer.
β€’ We have markers around the clinic to ensure physical distancing.
We thank you for your understanding and patience as we welcome you back into our clinic. Your health and safety are our utmost priority.
Sincerely,
Dr. Dustin Kirshen & Dr. Ira Kirshen

COVID-19: OUR COMMITMENT TO HEALTH AND SAFETY IN THE DENTAL PRACTICE

At our office, It is in our best interest to protect and help our patients in light of COVID-19.
We wanted to update you about the precautions we are taking. It's essential to us that our patients receive the same level of care that they are accustomed to, and that all dental emergencies are handled promptly. Here's what we've been doing in our office to ensure the environment is as safe and hygienic as possible.

SCREENING PATIENTS:

When our patients update their medical histories, we have been actively screening them to learn about any history of travel or signs of infection like cough, fever or shortness of breath.

PROPER SOCIAL DISTANCING:

You can rest assured that we are practicing proper social distancing in our office. We are actively working to make sure that patients are 6 feet or more away from others. We are encouraging patients to come in at their exact appointment time so that no one is waiting in our office.

WASHING HANDS:

All patients and team members are required to perform proper hand hygiene by washing their hands thoroughly.

WEARING PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE):

We have a strict policy to only practice dentistry when the right protective equipment is in place. We always wear surgical masks, eye protection and face shield. Masks are changed between patients. Rest assured, we are fully stocked in dental supplies.

CLEANING AND DISINFECTING:

Throughout the day, we are rigorously cleaning all public areas in our office, including the reception area, bathroom, and operatories. This intensive cleaning includes everything from door handles to chairs.

TAKING TEMPERATURES:

Before performing any dental procedures, we have been taking everyone’s temperature. This is our new routine protocol during assessment of all patients.

We always will put the welfare of our patients first. This means that we're keeping up to date with all announcements from the health regulatory authorities. If you have any questions about our policies during this time, please give us a call @ (905) 884 6600 and we'll be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Happy Victoria day to everyone from your Kirshen Dental Family!!! πŸ˜ŠπŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸŽ†πŸŽ†πŸŽ‡πŸŽ†

We are writing today to share with you, our community of patients, doctors, and staff, what we are doing at Kirshen Dental in the midst of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) threat. Your care and safety are our main concern as we continue to deliver essential dental services in the midst of (COVID-19).
In order to ensure the safety of all staff and patients, here are some of the preventative measures we are taking at Kirshen Dental:
β€’ All staff dentists, dental assistants, business staff, patients and guests will be required to sanitize their hands upon entering our facility, prior to any appointments;
β€’ All staff dentists, dental assistants, business staff and patients will be screened daily regarding their recent contacts;
β€’ Furniture and surfaces are, and will continue to be, cleaned and sanitized regularly;
β€’ Anyone that has been exposed recently to someone from an affected area or that does not feel well, or has a common cold or flu like symptoms is asked to refrain from coming to the office until symptoms have cleared. Please follow the advice of your health care provider or Public Health recommendations regarding your specific condition;
β€’ All treatment surfaces, diagnostic equipment, furniture, other equipment and bathroom facilities will continue to be cleaned and sanitized regularity with an antiviral, antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-tubercular product;
β€’ The most effective preventive measure we can all take is to practice proper hand hygiene. We provide hand-sanitizers at all points of entry, on all tables, offices and sitting areas; and,
β€’ All clinical staff will practice strict barrier techniques as we have always done.
Our policies and procedures for maintaining a clean environment for Out-of-Hospital Premises (OHP) meet and exceed those recommended by the Ministry of Health, Alberta Dental Association and College, College of Physicians and Surgeons, World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and Ontario Dental Association
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your trust and patience as we continue to work our way through this outbreak and meet the challenges together with a commitment to keeping our community safe.

Dr. Dustin Kirshen, B.Sc., D.D.S.
