Tell-Show-Do is the technique our pediatric specialists use to help children feel comfortable.
Tell: Before we do anything, we explain what's about to happen using words your child can easily understand.
Show: Next, we introduce the tool before using it. We might demonstrate it on a finger, a stuffed animal, or simply let your child have a closer look.
Do: Only after they've had the chance to hear about it and see it do we move forward.
It's a simple approach, but it's incredibly effective.
That's because the biggest trigger for dental anxiety isn't usually the tools or the sounds. It's the fear of the unknown.
When children know what to expect, they feel more in control, more confident, and much more relaxed in the dental chair.
