Periodontitis also is a significant complications of diabetes and the two conditions have strong 2way relationship,Diabetes increases the risk of developing and progressing periodontitis while untreated periodontitis can make it harden to manage blood sugar levels in individuals with diabetes.
Studies have shown that that women with periodontitis during pregnancy are more likely to experience preterm birth,deliver a baby with low birth weight and develop preeclampsia compared to women without the condition.
