Last week, our team spent the day with Ashley from Henry Schein, for a little CEREC refresher! We brushed up on our skills with our in-house CEREC crown milling machine and picked up some new tips and tricks along the way!

From staining and glazing to get those shades just right, to making the scanning process as smooth as possible, we’re always looking for ways to take our same-day crowns to the next level. 🙌

A huge thank you to Ashley for spending the day with us! We believe great patient care means never stopping learning, and we’re always looking for ways to get better at what we do. 💙

A little extra time for turkey, stretchy pants & giving thanks. 🦃🍂

Legacy Dental will be closed Monday, October 12th for Thanksgiving and will be back to our regularly scheduled smiles on Tuesday! 🦷✨

😴 Snoring isn’t always “just snoring.”

If you or your child is snoring regularly at night, your body may be working way harder than it should just to breathe while you sleep.

Think about that for a second. Your body is supposed to be resting, repairing and recovering, not constantly fighting for every breath.

And it’s not just about being tired the next day. Sleep-disordered breathing has been linked to inattention, hyperactivity and behavioral changes that can look a lot like ADHD.

That doesn’t mean airway issues cause every ADHD diagnosis. But it does mean that when a child is struggling with attention or behavior, sleep and breathing deserve a closer look. 👀

And adults aren’t off the hook either. Snoring, mouth breathing, restless sleep, morning headaches and waking up exhausted can all be signs that your airway deserves some attention.

As an airway-focused dental office, we look beyond the teeth. Because how you breathe, sleep and function matters just as much as your smile.

If you or your child snores regularly, don’t just accept it as normal. Ask why. 🫶

✨ Meet Lisa ✨

Lisa is our sterilization tech and one of the people working behind the scenes to keep our days running smoothly! She helps make sure our instruments are cleaned, sterilized, organized, and ready to go, but sterilization isn’t the only place you’ll find her. One of her favourite parts of the job is designing our CEREC crowns, helping turn a digital scan into a custom crown made right here in the office. 👑

Before joining the dental world, Lisa worked at a vet clinic, which makes perfect sense considering she would choose hanging out with her dog over humans pretty much any day. Outside of work, Lisa is all about the “grandma hobbies” and around the office, she’s earned another very important title: queen of the wildly offside Would You Rather. There’s truly no telling what question is coming next… but she definitely keeps things interesting around here.

We’re so happy to have Lisa as part of the Legacy crew. Keeping our instruments sterile, our crowns looking good, and our conversations slightly questionable. 😂🦷

✨ Meet Nica! ✨

If you’ve been in to see us recently, you may have already spotted her smiling face at the front desk. Nica has jumped right into the Legacy Dental crew and is quickly becoming one of the friendly faces welcoming you when you walk through our doors. 💙

As one of the first people our patients see when they arrive, Nica helps keep our days organized, our front desk moving, and our patients taken care of, all while learning the many, many, many things that happen behind the scenes of a dental office. 😅

While the dental world is new to Nica, connecting with people definitely isn’t! With 15 years of experience in sales and customer service, she’s very comfortable chatting with people and making them feel welcome. She says she’s loving learning something new every day and getting to know a whole new side of customer care. 🦷

Outside of the office, Nica loves travelling, going on long drives, and riding motorcycles with her husband. 🏍️ She also loves singing, although she insists she is not a singer. 😂 And her favourite way to unwind? Cleaning the house. Apparently it’s therapy… and yes, we’re volunteering for her to test this theory at our houses. 🧹😂
