- Covid-19 Update -
We're happy to announce that we are open and back in action. We have all been through a lot of changes over the last few months and, moving forward, the changes and regulations continue to evolve. While many things have changed, our dedication to your health and safety has remained the same.
Our commitment to infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. This is to ensure that the care you receive is both safe and comfortable. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the BC Centre for Disease Control, Canadian Dental Association (CDA) and the College of Dental Surgeons of BC (CDSBC). As part of our infection control procedure, we closely follow the activities of these agencies so that we stay on top of any changes or updates that may be issued, ensuring that we are current and adhere to each agencies' recommendations. Clinical staff will be wearing increased Personal Protective Equipment and all staff will be wearing masks, which may appear overwhelming to some but we remain the same friendly, caring people underneath it all.
In the coming months, your appointment may look a little different to you. We've made some changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
We will communicate with you before your appointment to ask some specific screening questions. The same questions will be asked the day of your appointment when you call us from outside of the building to confirm your arrival. DO NOT enter the building before announcing your arrival.
When you are safely invited up to the office, you will have your temperature taken and will be required to sign a consent form confirming your answers to be true to the best of your knowledge.
Upon entering our office, you will be required to wear a face covering and we will mist your hands with a medical grade hand sanitizer.
Our waiting room will no longer offer magazines or self-serve water since these are all very hard to sanitize. Also, we no longer have a washroom available for use at this time so please limit your fluid consumption prior to your appointment.
We kindly ask that you limit the amount of personal items you bring with you and to come unattended.
Your appointment will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. This might mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointments.
As you can imagine, we have quite a backlog of patients waiting for appointments so we ask for your patience while we work diligently to accommodate all of you over the next several months. We will do our best to get you all back on track as quickly as the schedule allows.
If you are considered to be in a high risk category (i.e.: diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, hypertension, lung disease including moderate to severe asthma, being immunocompromised, having active malignancy, etc.) we suggest that you postpone any non-urgent dental care.
Thank you for your continued patience during this process and thank you in advance for having the confidence in us to return for your dental care. We look forward to seeing you soon.
