Dr. Craig Lauwerier grew up in Delhi, Ontario. After graduating from the University of Toronto with honours, he completed a B.Ed at Western University before attending dental school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. After working for several years near his hometown in Tillsonburg Ontario, Craig had the opportunity to purchase Port Carling Dental in 2019 from Dr. Drew Markham,
who had laid the groundwork when he started this practice in 2017, drawing on his experience from many years practicing in Huntsville. Community involvement and outreach is important to Dr. Lauwerier, and in years past he has volunteered at the Free Dental Clinic in Cleveland, with the DOCS (Dental Outreach Community Service) at Western University in London, and has served on a dental outreach humanitarian trip near Cusco, Peru. For the past 4 years Dr. Lauwerier has also supported his dental colleagues by serving on the Oxford Dental Society executive council, and is currently completing his term in the Past-President role. Thanks to his love of outdoor activities in all seasons, the lifestyle offered in Muskoka was an obvious draw for Dr. Lauwerier. In his spare time, he loves mountain biking, hiking, skiing, and just exploring everything Muskoka has to offer!
