We are pleased to announce the addition of the Vatech Green CBCT (Cone Beam Computer Tomography) system to our dental practice.
This state of the art 3D imaging technology will allow us to provide highly precise diagnostics and treatment planning in all aspects of dentistry while utilizing an ultra low X-ray dose for the safety of our patients.
Uses of a 3D CT scan in Dentistry:
Dental Implants: Scans let us precisely measure jawbone depth and density. This allows us to view and measure the thickness and height of the bone in order to safely place the implant in the most optimum position avoiding anatomical landmarks like sinuses and nerve canals.
Wisdom Teeth & Extractions: We can view the exact depth, tilt, and root shape of impacted teeth BEFORE surgery as well as their proximity to sinuses and major nerves, minimizing the risk of post-surgical complications.
Complex Root Canals: This tool exposes tiny, hidden canals or structural cracks in the tooth not visible on 2D x-rays . This allows us to diagnose and treat complicated root canal procedures that we otherwise may have had to refer to a root canal specialist.
Orthodontics: CBCT scans can map out a patient's jaw growth, severe bite malalignments, and how their roots sit in the bone. This information provides vital data for orthodontic treatment planning.
TMJ & Airway Assessment: High-resolution tracking evaluates the bone structure of your jaw joints to identify the source of jaw pain or breathing limitations.
Pathology Diagnosis: CBCTs allow us to see cysts, tumors and lesions in the jaws and sinus to support essential early diagnosis and timely referral when needed.
