Ever wondered why we ask you to remove your jewelry before a panoramic X-ray or 3D CBCT?

Metal loves being the main character on an X-ray. 😂 It can show up as a bright white area that masks something we need to see, or create streaks, distortions and “ghost” images 👻

Think of it a little like glare from a mirror- the extra brightness and distortion can get in the way of what you’re actually trying to see.

That’s why the earrings, necklaces and piercings have to sit this photoshoot out 😄🦷📸
