Did you know that plaque can harden into tartar in as little as 24 to 72 hours? 🦠➡️🪨

Plaque is the sticky, invisible film of bacteria that forms on your teeth daily. If you miss a spot while brushing or flossing, that plaque hardens into tartar (calculus). Once it turns into tartar, your toothbrush is completely useless against it!

Only a professional scaling by our hygiene team can safely remove tartar buildup before it causes cavities or gum disease.

Teeth are firmly rooted in your jawbone, so how do braces actually shift them? 🧠

The Science: It all comes down to an amazing biological process called bone remodeling. When traditional braces apply constant, gentle pressure to a tooth, special cells called osteoclasts dissolve the bone in the direction the tooth is moving. On the other side, cells called osteoblasts build new bone to lock the tooth into its new position!

This is why traditional braces are so incredibly effective at fixing severe crowding and bite issues for both kids and adults. It is literal biological engineering!

It’s one of the most famous historical myths: George Washington had wooden teeth. 🛑

Fact Check: He never did! Old dentures were actually made from materials like ivory, gold, lead, and even animal teeth.

Thankfully, restorative dentistry has evolved significantly. Today, our premium custom dentures are crafted from high-tech acrylic resins and porcelain. They are designed to perfectly mimic the translucency of natural teeth while providing unmatched durability and a secure fit.

We hear the term "root canal" all the time, but what actually happens inside the tooth? 🦷

Anatomy Lesson: Deep inside your tooth, beneath the hard enamel and dentin, is a soft tissue called the pulp (which contains blood vessels and nerves). When a tooth gets deeply infected, this pulp becomes inflamed, causing severe pain.

A root canal simply removes that infected pulp, cleans the hollow space, and seals it up! Because a fully grown tooth doesn't actually need the pulp to survive, we can save your natural tooth and eliminate your pain instantly.

Why do we even grow wisdom teeth if we just have to get them removed? 🧬🦷

Dental Trivia: Thousands of years ago, our early ancestors needed a third set of molars to grind down a tough diet of raw roots, leaves, and meats. Over time, human diets became softer, and our jaws evolved to be smaller—leaving no room for those extra teeth!

If your evolutionary leftovers are causing crowding or pain, we can help. With our minimal sedation options, having your wisdom teeth removed is a completely relaxed, stress-free, and comfortable experience.

Did you know? Tooth enamel is the hardest substance in your body. 🦷💪

Protect it with daily brushing + regular check-ups! While enamel is incredibly strong, it can still be worn down over time by acidic foods, grinding, or hidden plaque. Staying on top of your routine visits ensures your body's strongest defense stays completely intact.

When was your last check-up? Send us a DM to schedule your next visit!
