Whitening toothpaste gets a lot of attention… but it’s important to know what it actually does 🦷✨

Most whitening toothpastes do not change the natural colour of your teeth. Instead, they work by using mild abrasives or polishing agents to help remove surface stains caused by things like coffee, tea, red wine, and smoking. This can make teeth look brighter, but it’s not the same as true whitening.

Because of these abrasives, some whitening toothpastes can feel harsher on enamel, especially if used long-term or if you already have sensitivity or enamel wear.

Professional whitening products work differently. They use safe, controlled ingredients designed to pe*****te the enamel and lighten the tooth from the inside out — while still protecting enamel and minimizing sensitivity when used correctly.

Most of us grew up rinsing our mouths after brushing — it feels clean, it tastes better, and honestly… the foam situation can get a little wild 😅
But here’s the thing: rinsing right away washes away the fluoride your teeth actually need.

🦷 Why fluoride matters:
Fluoride is one of the simplest and most effective ways to:
• Strengthen enamel
• Prevent cavities
• Reduce sensitivity
• Protect against acids (from food, drinks & bacteria)

When you rinse immediately, that concentrated fluoride layer disappears before it can do its job. Leaving it on for even 20–30 minutes gives your teeth time to absorb it and build resistance.

🧼 What if you can’t stand not rinsing?
Try using a fluoride mouthwash instead of plain water — that way, you’re not diluting the fluoride effect.
