🥳 We are happy to announce the launching of our new Research Resources and Research Directory!

The OPC/ISPO Canada Joint Research Committee has created a self-enrolled online directory for Canadian O&P researchers in order to foster collaboration among clinical professionals, researchers, students, and industry partners.

The directory offers a unique opportunity to:
👉 Identify and promote O&P researchers across Canada
👉 Connect with collaborators on shared research priorities
👉 Coordinate research efforts nationally
👉 Showcase your work with a profile, project listings, and recruitment links

The newly launched directory and resources support the Joint Research Committee’s mandates to establish national research priorities, coordinate national research efforts, support innovation and knowledge translation, foster evidence-based practice, and serve as a knowledge and data resource for the profession.

Free paper and poster presentations offer an opportunity to share qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods research with an international audience. If you are unsure about your submission, support is available to help you prepare a strong abstract.

For practical guidance on writing a high-quality scientific abstract, we recommend watching the webinar recording: “Mastering the art of writing a scientific abstract”, presented by Dr. Jaap van Netten.

Feedback opportunity: Abstract triage
Pre-submission feedback (abstract triage) on the formatting, composition, and structure of free paper or poster abstracts is available. This service is intended for authors who are new to scientific research, do not have mentors available to give critical feedback, who feel they would benefit from advice on English language, and / or whose submissions have been rejected previously.

Mentoring
The 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) is an academic competition designed to help current students develop effective presentation and communication skills. To support participating students, mentoring is available for abstract writing and presentation preparation.

To request abstract triage or mentoring, please email [email protected] by 3 August. Feedback will be provided by the end of August.

Submission deadline: 7 September 2026
