Dr. Sharaf had the opportunity to practice as a general dentist for several years before pursuing specialty training in Orthodontics at the University of
Alberta. In 2008, he completed the clinical and research requirements to obtain his Master of Orthodontics degree from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta. Dr. Sharaf practiced orthodontics in Edmonton, Alberta for twelve years. He was also affiliated with the Stollery Children’s hospital in Edmonton where he took part in treating patients with craniofacial deformities including cleft lip and palate. During that time, he was privileged to contribute to the orthodontic care of hundreds of patients and families. Having relocated to Ottawa to be closer to his extended family and friends, Dr. Sharaf is proud to call the beautiful city of Ottawa his new home. He is a registered orthodontic specialist in good standing with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, and a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. In addition, he is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics since 2013. He has lectured on various orthodontic topics to dentists and orthodontists nationally and internationally since 2011.
