April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month!

Signs to look out for: persistent ear pain, non-healing tonsillar ulcer, unexplained bleeding in the mouth, changes in taste or tongue sensation, lumps located on the lips, tongue or neck, crusty spots on lips or other areas in the mouth, lumps or changes in the texture or colour of the mouth tissues, dark red or white patches in the mouth or on your lips or tongue, sores or patches in the mouth or on the lip that do not heal within 2 weeks, numbness, tenderness or pain in the mouth or tongue for no apparent reason, swelling of your jaw that causes dentures to fit poorly or become uncomfortable, a sore throat that is persistent, a feeling that something is caught in your throat or hoarseness or loss of your voice, difficulty chewing or swallowing, speaking or moving your jaw or tongue.
