1,025 students. 6 schools. 1 Beaver Scout colony. One powerful message: prevention matters.

This year’s Brush-a-Mania in Ottawa, now in its 26th year, was a resounding success. We exceeded our goal of reaching 1,000 students and brought oral health education directly to children in a fun, engaging, and meaningful way.

Grateful to the Ottawa Dental Society for the opportunity to help lead this important initiative.

Dr. Hussein Al-Mufti and the Brush-a-Mania event were at St. Gianna School in my neighbourhood last week. This is the third year I’ve had the pleasure of being part of this event.

We are thrilled to announce that Mayor Mark Sutcliffe has officially proclaimed April to be Oral Health month in Ottawa.
Last week, ODS members, Drs. Frank Lee and Isha Moza visited City Hall to be presented with the proclamation by Mayor Sutcliffe himself.
We're looking forward to celebrating the importance of oral health this month through Brush-a-mania presentations and the Parent & Child Expo. We're expecting to reach more than 1700 kids and families!

We have created a fundraising page with Leila and a riding group for the CN Cycle for CHEO, in support of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO).
Why: Join us as we pedal or walk toward a brighter future for the children, youth, and families who rely on CHEO.
