Halloween might just be our favorite holiday. If you’ve been in the clinic you’ll know that we’ll take any excuse to decorate. And Halloween is every year’s biggest excuse… just ask the skeletons out front. Yesterday we took things one step further and want full Mario for the day. Bowser is big on dental hygiene.

We’re already planning for next year. In the meantime go easy on the sticky candies.

Today was our annual Christmas sweater day! Some of our team snuck out for holidays early, so Taro, our unofficial practice pup, stepped in for the photo.

The team will be off for Christmas and New Year’s for some much-needed rest and relaxation. Should you have any troubles during this time please check our website www.hsgdental.ca. On there we have some tips and tricks for common orthodontic issues, and contact information for additional support.

Good morning Ottawa!
We are lucky enough to not have been affected by power outages. Today we are open and seeing patients. If anyone in the community need to charge their phones or download their Netflix shows, please come by!

Coming to the end of a busy and unpredictable year we are taking a break over the holiday period. Our wonderful and hard-working staff are taking some well-deserved time off to spend with their families. We will be back on January 9 rested and ready to take on the new year.

Today we have seen 'some' relaxing of mask mandates across Ontario. As a healthcare facility we are still required to have all patients and visitors wear a mask while inside our office.

This guidance is set by Public Health Ontario and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (our registration board).

So, until directed otherwise, please continue to wear a properly fitting mask during appointments in our office.

Happy New Year!

Does this feels like déjà vu? Danielle and Lori are in the office today confirming appointments and making changes to our schedule for the week ahead.

In light of rapidly rising COVID 19 cases in Ottawa and additional restrictions implemented by both the province and the city, we are updating our own policies. Capacity at the clinic is being reduced to decrease the number of contacts for both patients and staff. Lori and Danielle will be calling all patients and families who may need to have their appointments rescheduled in the coming days. We thank you for your patience as we implement additional safety measures to mitigate the spread in this wave.

We are only working a few days ahead at a time as the situation seems to be changing quickly. We continue to focus on the safety of our patients, staff, and all of our families.

If you have an appointment and need to reschedule due for any reason please contact our office at 613-731-1961 as soon as possible so we can make the necessary changes.

Congratulations Maggie!

Maggie had her braces taken off today as her treatment is complete. To celebrate she made us, the "teeth gang" as she puts it, a beautiful hand painted thank you card. We share your excitement and will miss seeing you in the office.

Earlier this week our ortho team stayed late to complete their BLS recertification. This annual CPR training is a great way to reinforce potentially life saving skills and was a great chance for our team to connect.

COVID-19 Screening protocols are changing. Reflective of the increased percentage of vaccinated individuals in Ontario, the RCDSO has approved a new screening policy. Individual forms will no longer be required on entry. All visitors including patients and families will now be asked to read screening questions and answer verbally.

We’re happy for this small indicator that we’re on the road back to normal and thank everyone for their continued patience as changes roll out.

Please continue to wear your mask in the clinic as the mask mandate remains in place.

We are always excited to hear about the many varied hobbies our patients have. Lukas was in today to show Dr. Habibi his Pokemon card collection. It brought back many fond memories from Dr. Habibi's childhood. There was even a Charizard!
