From Las Vegas to Vancouver ✈️

Recently, Dr. Shin had the opportunity to attend the AMII Symposium in Las Vegas. During the symposium, he learned about new approaches to dental implants, especially techniques focused on preserving natural bone 🦷 and helping patients heal faster ⏱️

He also had the chance to meet and exchange ideas with leaders in the field, including Dr. Wang (Founder of AMII) and Dr. Kim (Oral Surgeon from New Jersey). 🤝

Experiences like this allow us to bring back not just new knowledge, but better care for our patients, such as making treatments more predictable, comfortable, and long-lasting. 😊

Our patient came in feeling that part of his tooth felt “off,” but couldn’t tell exactly where it was coming from. 🦷

After examination, we found a small surface-level fracture (chip) on the right side of the tooth. This can happen over time due to excess biting forces, clenching, or grinding, especially in areas that have been previously treated.

We restored the area with a new filling to protect the tooth and bring back a smooth, comfortable surface.

If something feels rough, sharp, or unusual, it’s always worth getting it checked early. 😊

Bridge prep in progress 🦷✨

Today we examined our patient’s upper crown and found decay. The tooth had a previous root canal, and an older filling created an open contact, causing food to get stuck between the teeth and eventually leading to a cavity near the front of the crown.

This is a common reminder that crowns don’t prevent cavities, decay can still develop along the edges or between teeth, especially when the contact isn’t tight and food packs in. If you notice frequent food trapping, sensitivity, or floss shredding, it’s worth getting it checked early.
