April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month 💙
Oral cancer can develop in the mouth, throat, lips, cheeks, or tongue.
✨ Risk factors: to***co use, alcohol, HPV infection, excessive sun exposure (for lips), and a history of oral lesions.
⚠️ Watch for symptoms: persistent sores, lumps, red or white patches, difficulty swallowing, numbness, or unexplained pain.
🛡️ Prevention tips: avoid to***co, limit alcohol, use lip SPF, maintain good oral hygiene, and visit your dentist regularly.
🔍 Self-check reminder: Once a month, look inside your mouth in the mirror—check your gums, tongue (top & underside), cheeks, and lips for anything unusual. If something doesn’t heal within 2 weeks, get it checked.
Small habits can save lives—stay aware, stay healthy 💙
