Strep mutans is the bacteria that is responsible for tooth decay. This is found in our saliva and can be passed onto others. Newborns do not have this bacteria early on, so try to practice these tips to avoid passing on this cavity causing bacteria!
- Have your own cavities treated
- Avoid kissing their mouth
- Don’t lick their pacifier
- Avoid sharing utensils
