So much fun and such a privilege to be able to support the event and contribute to the amazing cause! So much love for all the racers and the families and the organizers and the volunteers and the sponsors! 🏁🫶♥️

It fills our hearts with joy to see this wonderful community all pull together for the Nanaimo Child Development Centre. Not only that but the racing was so awesome! The cars have evolved since last year and competition was a close, such a great way to spend a Saturday! Cannot wait till next year! ☀️🏁🪥🦷

As the dust settles on the 2026 Hub City Soapbox Derby, we’re once again left speechless by the incredible support from our Nanaimo community and people who came from all across Vancouver Island to be part of this special event. 🏁❤️

A heartfelt thank you to all of our racers, sponsors, generous donors and incredible volunteers who made this year’s Derby such a success. From start to finish, the excitement, community spirit and support were truly unforgettable.

Together, we raised vital funds for the Nanaimo Child Development Centre (NCDC), supporting the life-changing therapies, programs, and early interventions they provide for local children and families.

😁 Keep your eyes peeled during the racing break for the Seaside Smile Clinic Scavenger Hunt! We’ll be hiding our colourful grinning painted faces around the event — find one, bring it back to our stand and you’ll get a mystery goodie bag packed with fun prizes! 🎁🦷🪥🎊

Every year, our community comes together with a shared purpose: to support the Nanaimo Child Development Centre(NCDC) and the incredible work they do for local children with developmental needs and their families. For more than 50 years, the NCDC has provided essential programs, therapies, and family support services that help children reach their full potential.

Every registration, sponsorship, donation, and cheer from the sidelines helps make a meaningful difference. Together, we're helping ensure more children and families have access to the care, resources, and support they need, creating a stronger, more inclusive community where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

This is such an amazingingly good cause for our community and one that we are very proud to support! Look out for the Hub City Soap Box Derby next Saturday in downtown Nanaimo! This is the 7th year they have used this event to fundraise for the Nanaimo Child Development Centre and each year the racing gets better and and crowds get bigger!

We are so proud to announce our involvement with this event for the 2nd year running, we will be there on the day with a big Seaside Smile on our faces! More information to follow soon!

🦷 Have you renewed your Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)? 🍁🇨🇦

Here's something many people don't realize...

CDCP coverage isn't automatically renewed each year. If you don't complete your annual renewal when required, your coverage could expire, potentially leaving you without benefits for your next dental visit.

A few helpful reminders: ✅ Watch for renewal notices from the Government of Canada. ✅ Complete your renewal as soon as you're eligible. ✅ Make sure your annual tax return has been filed, as eligibility is based on your income and tax information. ✅ If you're unsure whether your coverage is still active, check your status before your next appointment.
