Introducing "What’s Up With That?" A new series where we answer some of the dental questions that might have you wondering… what’s going on?🤔
Why is my jaw clicking?🦷
That clicking or popping sound often comes from the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), which connects your jaw to your skull. It can happen when the small disc inside the joint shifts slightly as your jaw moves.
Jaw clicking is fairly common and if there’s no pain or difficulty moving your jaw, it may not require treatment. If the clicking comes with pain, frequent headaches, limited movement, or your jaw locking, it’s worth bringing up with your dentist!
