Understanding Acne: Non-Inflammatory vs. Inflammatory 🧖🏾‍♀️✨

Not all acne is the same! Understanding the difference between non-inflammatory and inflammatory acne can help you treat it effectively. 👇🏾

🔹 Non-Inflammatory Acne (Clogged Pores)
✔ Whiteheads (Closed Comedones): Small bumps with a white top, caused by trapped oil & dead skin.
✔ Blackheads (Open Comedones): Darkened pores due to oxidation, not dirt!

🔹 Inflammatory Acne (Red, Swollen, & Sometimes Painful)
✔ Papules: Small, red bumps—no pus, just irritation.
✔ Pustules: Red bumps with a white or yellow pus-filled center.
✔ Nodules: Large, deep, and painful lumps under the skin.
✔ Cysts: The most severe—large, pus-filled, and can lead to scarring.

💡 Tips for Clearer Skin:
✅ Double Cleanse: First with an oil-based cleanser to remove makeup & sunscreen, then with a gentle cleanser to clean deeper.
✅ Use Salicylic Acid or Benzoyl Peroxide: Great for targeting breakouts & unclogging pores.
✅ Hydrate & Moisturize: Even oilier skin types need moisture to prevent the overproduction of sebum.
