In Saskatoon for the weekend, for my last module of the AAID Maxicourse. 10 months of comprehensive surgical implant training, adding even more options for our patients .

Get your damn x-rays, because I sure as hell can’t look inside you skull 💀 and see the giant cyst, eating away at your jaw bone without it.

Great example of a large dentigerous cyst taking over the lower right mandible.

Generally no pain associated with it, BUT super dangerous because:

a) highly likelihood of jaw fracture, depending on size

b)reconstructive surgery being needed

c) supportive medical care (help with speech, nutrition, swallowing)

c) infection, which can be pretty damn dangerous in the bone

d) tooth loss and all the things that come with that.

I probably come across 5-6 of them a year in my practice. Every patient I have had, had zero symptoms. So the next time you want to forgo X-rays, think of this.
