Are you brushing too hard? It may be doing more harm than good. 🪥🦷

Here are some signs to watch for❗️:

• Receding gums – Brushing aggressively can wear down your gum tissue, making your teeth appear longer and exposing sensitive areas.

• Tooth sensitivity – Too much pressure can wear away enamel, leading to discomfort when eating hot, cold, or sweet foods.

• Frayed toothbrush quickly – If your bristles look worn out after only a few weeks, you may be applying too much force while brushing.

💡 Tip: Use a soft-bristled brush and gentle circular motions — your teeth don’t need scrubbing!

• Bleeding gums – Brushing too hard can irritate your gums and cause bleeding, even if you brush regularly.

⚠️ While bleeding can also mean gum inflammation, brushing too aggressively can damage the gum tissue and cause irritation.

💡 Tip: Hold your toothbrush like a pencil and use gentle circular motions on tooth and gums together.

📞 Book your visit with King East Dental to make sure your brushing technique is working for you, not against you!

Do baby teeth really matter? The answer might surprise you! 👶🦷

✨ Brush twice a day
✨ Start flossing when teeth touch/even if there are spaces in between teeth

Summer sports are here! ☀️🏒⚽

If you’re playing sports or doing activities where you could come into contact with other players or hard surfaces, wearing a sports guard is essential. Mouthguards help protect not only your teeth, but also your lips, cheeks, gums, and jaw from injuries like chipped or lost teeth, cuts, and even jaw fractures.

Sports guards aren’t just for kids — athletes of all ages should wear one when playing sports like hockey, basketball, soccer, football, lacrosse, or even activities like skateboarding and cycling.

Custom-made mouthguards from your dentist offer the best fit, comfort, and protection. They’re designed specifically for your mouth, making them easier to breathe and speak while wearing compared to store-bought options.

A little preparation can prevent painful and costly dental injuries. Protect your smile this season and ask us about a custom sports guard! 🦷💙

🪥 THIS or THAT: Electric vs. Manual Toothbrush?

This is one of the most common questions we get from patients — so let’s break it down 👇

⚡ Electric Toothbrush
✔️ Removes plaque with less effort
✔️ Built-in timers help you brush long enough
✔️ Great for kids and anyone with limited dexterity

🖐 Manual Toothbrush
✔️ Affordable & easy to use anywhere
✔️ Effective when used with proper technique
✔️ No batteries or charging needed
✔️ Lightweight and travel-friendly

✨Both can keep your smile healthy and it t all comes down to how well and how consistently you brush!

The best toothbrush is the one you use consistently and correctly!

💬 Tell us your pick:
⚡ Electric or 🖐 Manual?
