Healthy gums are pink and consistent around each tooth. Gum recession occurs gradually and goes unnoticed easily. Experts advise you to know what is normal in your mouth so it’s easier to notice abnormalities.

Gum recession or gingival recession is the exposure of the teeth’s roots caused by loss of gum tissue. If left untreated, it will affect your smile and appearance and increase the risk of periodontal disease and tooth loss. Treatment options include root scaling and planning, regeneration, and gum grafting. Your dentist will know the best approach to treat your condition.
