By age two or three, most try to stop. If your little one still likes sucking, a soother is a better option than thumb-sucking, as it’s easier to control.

🚫 Avoid adding sugar, honey, or corn syrup to the soother to prevent cavities. It's best to help your child stop by age five before permanent teeth develop. Lingering sucking beyond this age can impact jaw and teeth growth.
