👻 THE GHOST TREND… ORTHODONTIC EDITION! 👻

When you work in orthodontics, you learn pretty quickly that some things just haunt you… 😂🦷

👻 The patient who says, “I swear I wear my elastics!”
👻 The broken bracket that definitely happened “just while eating something soft.”
👻 That one stubborn tooth that refuses to move.
👻 And, of course… the ghost of every forgotten flossing routine. 🪥💀
We may not be able to see the ghosts, but we can definitely see when you’re not wearing your elastics! 👀😂

🎉 Happy Birthday to our amazing Karen L! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating our wonderful Financial Coordinator, who has been part of the Kingston Orthodontics team for 7 years! 💙

Karen is a big fan of pretzels and peanut butter chips, but when it comes to treats, she has an even bigger soft spot for all things baked! We also know that the best way to start her day isn’t necessarily with coffee—it’s dancing around the kitchen with her favourite person! 💃❤️ We think that sounds like a pretty great way to start the morning!

When Karen isn’t at KO, she loves photography and reading, and she’s always up for a little adventure. In fact, she’s currently living her best life at Disneyland Paris! 🏰✨✈️

Karen also has a very special hidden talent… she can speak to animals! The only downside? They unfortunately haven’t learned how to speak back yet, which we’re sure is very disappointing. 😂🐾

And if there’s one thing Karen absolutely loves, it’s Christmas! 🎄❤️ We have a feeling she could happily celebrate the most wonderful time of the year all year long!

Karen has become such a valued part of our KO Team. We’re so lucky to have her. Happy Birthday, Karen! We hope you have the most magical day! 💙🦷🎉

🎉 Happy Birthday to our amazing Karen Y! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating our Administrative Manager, who has been part of the Kingston Orthodontics team for almost 15 years—and we’re so lucky to have her! 💙 When it comes to getting to know Karen, there are a few things you should know: she’s all about chocolate, she enjoys a good cup of coffee to start the day, and her ultimate comfort food—mac & cheese! ☕🍝🍫

When it comes to hobbies, baking is definitely one of Karen’s favourites—although we’re pretty sure the best part is getting to enjoy the finished product! 🧁🍪 And if you ever asked her to choose between sweet or salty, good luck… because Karen’s answer would be BOTH! Why choose when you can have the best of both worlds? 😋

Karen enjoys watching Game of Thrones and The Devil Wears Prada, and if you really want to see her light up, just bring up sheep! 🐏 There’s something about those fluffy little faces that brings an instant smile to Karen’s face! 💕

After nearly 15 years at KO, Karen has definitely become a familiar and much-loved part of our team. She brings her own personality, humour, and plenty of memories to the office, and we truly can’t imagine the team without her! 🥰

We hope your birthday is filled with coffee, chocolate, delicious treats, lots of laughs, and a little bit of relaxation! Here’s to another amazing year—and hopefully making that dream of taking your girls to Disney a reality! ✈️🏰✨

Why Should Your Child See an Orthodontist?❓🦷😀

Did you know that age 7 is a great time for your child’s first orthodontic visit?

By this age, adult teeth are beginning to come in, giving an orthodontist a chance to see how your child’s smile and jaws are developing. It’s also a great opportunity to spot potential concerns early—before they become bigger problems.

An early visit doesn’t mean your child needs braces! It simply gives us the opportunity to monitor their growth and determine if—and when—treatment might be helpful.

Why check, and potentially treat early?

🦷 To correct and guide the growth of the child’s jaw and help permanent teeth come in straight
🦷 Regulate the width of the upper and lower arches
Create more space for crowded teeth
🦷 Avoid the need for permanent extraction later in life
Correct thumb-sucking and help improve minor speech problems

Every child’s smile develops at its own pace, so the earlier we can take a look, the better we can plan ahead!

🎉 Happy Birthday to our Treatment Coordinator, Kim! 🎉

If you ever find yourself wondering what makes Kim tick, we’ve got the answers! After four years at Kingston Orthodontics, we thought her birthday was the perfect excuse to let everyone get to know the person behind the scenes a little better. 💙

Kim is happiest starting her day with coffee on the front porch, preferably with a Pumpkin Chai in hand. She’s a self-proclaimed night owl, and when she’s not at the office, you’ll likely find her thrifting or dreaming about a trip to Nashville.

When it comes to comfort food, Kim doesn’t mess around — it’s a smash burger every time. And while she may enjoy a good protein bread snack, she certainly has a sweet side… chocolate cake is her pick when it comes to dessert! 🍰

Kim has a soft spot for anything Highland Cow, never gets tired of Coronation Street, and when faced with the ultimate orthodontic question, she’s Team Braces all the way! 🦷

And perhaps the most important thing you should know about Kim? She has a hidden talent for doing an avid yodeler impression… which is definitely a skill we don’t get to use nearly enough around the office! 😂🎤
