Is teeth whitening safe? 🦷✨

For most people, yes, when it’s done properly and with the right whitening option for your smile.

Professional teeth whitening can help lift stains caused by things like coffee, tea, red w**e, and everyday habits. Some people may experience temporary sensitivity, which is why it helps to speak with a dental professional before getting started.

Not every smile is the same, and things like fillings, crowns, existing sensitivity, and your overall oral health can affect your whitening results.

Ready for a brighter smile? 😁 Book a whitening consultation with our team today and find out what option is right for you.

Back to school means back to routines. 🎒🪥

Earlier mornings, packed lunches, homework, activities… September gets busy quickly. And while everyone is getting back into the swing of things, it’s a great time to get healthy smile habits back on track too.

A simple routine can go a long way:
🪥 Brush twice a day for two minutes
🦷 Floss or clean between teeth daily
💧 Choose water throughout the day
📅 Keep up with recommended dental checkups and cleanings

And if a dental visit got pushed aside during the summer, now is a great time to get it back on the calendar.

Start the school year with one less thing to worry about. Book your family’s next dental visit today.

You never think you’ll need to know what to do with a knocked-out tooth… until it happens. 🦷

A knocked-out adult tooth is a dental emergency, and knowing the right steps ahead of time can make a stressful situation a little easier.

Save this post so you have it if you ever need it:

1️⃣ Pick up the tooth by the crown, not the root.
2️⃣ If you can’t safely place it back in position, keep it in cold milk.
3️⃣ Contact a dentist immediately.

Hopefully you’ll never need these steps, but this is one of those posts that’s worth saving just in case. Share it with someone who might need to know what to do in an emergency.

Experiencing a dental emergency now? Call our office so our team can advise you on next steps.

School lunches are back!

If you’re already wondering what to pack, keep it simple. Fresh fruit, crunchy veggies, cheese or yogurt, a balanced main and water are all easy lunchbox staples that can help make busy school mornings a little easier. 🍎🥕🥪💧

And yes, treats are okay too. Healthy habits are about the bigger picture, not one snack or lunch.

Back-to-school season is also a great time to get everyone back into their regular routines. If someone in the family is due for a dental visit, give our team a call or book online.

That quick *zing* from a cold drink can be more than just annoying. 🧊🦷

Tooth sensitivity can happen when enamel wears down, gums recede, or a tooth has decay or another underlying concern. If you’re regularly reacting to cold, heat, sweets or brushing, it’s worth having it checked.

Sensitive toothpaste can help manage the discomfort, but finding the cause is just as important.

Avoiding iced drinks? Call our team or book online to have your sensitivity checked.

Wisdom teeth typically emerge between the late teens and early twenties, and sometimes there simply isn’t enough room for them to come in properly.

Common concerns include:
• Not enough space, which may lead to discomfort, swelling or infection
• Impaction or angled positioning that can affect neighboring teeth

Not every wisdom tooth needs to be removed. Your dentist can assess how they’re developing and recommend whether monitoring or treatment is appropriate.

With school and busier fall schedules around the corner, now is a great time to get them checked before things get hectic.

Call our team or book online to schedule an appointment.

Fall sports are almost here! 🏒🥍🏀

Before the season gets busy, make sure a properly fitting mouthguard is part of the gear.

Mouthguards can help protect teeth during sports and activities where contact or falls may happen. If you’re reusing one from last season, take a moment to check the fit and look for signs of wear, damage or changes in shape. Growing athletes may also need a new fit from one season to the next.

Getting ready for fall sports? Contact us today to ask about mouthguard options and get prepared before the season starts.

Dental X-rays help your dentist see what a visual exam alone cannot. 🦷

They can provide important information about areas that may be difficult to see during a regular examination, including:

🦷 Between the teeth
🦷 Below the gumline
🦷 Bone and tooth roots
🦷 Existing dental work
🦷 Developing or impacted teeth

But dental X-rays are not necessarily the same for every patient. Your dentist considers factors such as your oral health, dental history, age and individual needs when determining which X-rays may be appropriate and when.

Have questions about your oral health or think it may be time for your next dental exam? Call our office today!
