What I didn’t know then that I do now.
This week marks 2️⃣1️⃣ years since I graduated from dental hygiene at Cambrian College.
Time teaches and shifts perspectives. If I could go back and tell myself or current graduates this is what I would say;
✔️ You are about to embark on the greatest human relations learning experience. It will teach you greater empathy, compassion, and patience. Your best care will be delivered through those relationships you build with your clients.
✔️ Learn to think outside the box of education that’s taught in college. I learned that there’s so much more to learn if you want to fully integrate oral systemic practices with your clients. Take the courses even when they cost $$$. You are investing in your future self. This educated self will take you further in life.
✔️If you find yourself in a toxic work environment, leave!!! Don’t stay, it’ll erode the passion of WHY you got into dental hygiene in the first place.
✔️ Believe in yourself. Know you are worthy of all your future dreams. If you see a vision for yourself, fight for it. There’s a reason it came to you. If you need guidance or support, seek it. Don’t let your vision die inside you. You are meant for greatness.
And if you’re reading this, THANK YOU for following, supporting me, guiding my future self. Like you, I have much work to continue. I keep chasing my potential and know that will never end. 💜🦷
Congratulations to all the dental hygiene graduates. 🎓 You are going to do amazing things.
Much love & gratitude,
