Tiny teeth, big job 🦷

Good oral care starts before your child can even hold a toothbrush.

Before teeth appear, gently clean the gums with a soft, damp cloth, or finger brush. Once that first tooth comes in, start brushing twice a day with a small, soft-bristled toothbrush.

For children under 3, toothpaste isn’t always necessary. In Canada, fluoride toothpaste is generally recommended based on a child’s risk of developing cavities. If fluoride is recommended, only a tiny rice-grain-sized amount is needed.

As more teeth come in, make sure you’re reaching the back molars and cleaning between any teeth that touch.

And don’t forget their first dental visit - ideally by age 1. 🤍
