We hear this all the time — and we completely understand why it can be confusing! Here’s something many patients don’t realize: your exam, polishing and scaling may not all follow the same schedule under your dental benefits.
✨ Exams & polishing may be covered every 6 or 9 months, depending on your individual plan.
✨ Scaling is often covered separately in units, which may allow you to have your teeth professionally cleaned more frequently.
So why did your hygienist recommend 3 or 4 months?
Because your hygiene schedule is based on YOUR individual gum health and oral health needs — not simply when your next exam is due.
Your insurance coverage and your recommended care schedule aren’t always the same thing. 🦷✨
