Most of the global population experience tooth decay or will develop cavities at some point in their lives. Researchers have discovered a naturally occurring molecule, 3,3′-Diindolylmethane (DIM), also known as bisindole, reduces bacterial biofilms that cause tooth decay by 90%. The molecule could potentially be added to toothpaste and mouthrinses to help improve oral health.
