STAGES OF GUM DISEASE
1️⃣Gum disease begins with the formation of hard and soft deposits on the surface of the teeth.

2️⃣Over time, a build-up of bacteria called plaque collects at the gum line, eventually hardening on the teeth into calcium deposits called calculus (tartar).

3️⃣With poor oral care, these bacteria can cause inflammation of the gums (gingivitis),

4️⃣Bacteria then penetrates the gum line and finally spread into the underlying bone (periodontitis).

If unchecked, periodontal disease can lead to complete destruction of the tooth’s supporting tissues, abscesses and, ultimately, loss of the tooth.

Symptoms of gum disease
• Redness
• Swelling
• Tenderness
• Bleeding
• Recession
• Deep pockets between teeth/gums
• Painful chewing
• Loose or shifting teeth

ONE YEAR🎉🥂🎂⁣
It’s officially been 1 year since Dr. Asha took lead (okay 1 year and 4 days 😜). And WHAT A YEAR. Let’s say that again- WHAT A YEAR! ⁣

We honestly would not be able to celebrate this day without the incredible team of women at South Georgetown. Navigating new ownership and a global pandemic? It takes a truly amazing team and we’re lucky to say we got that💕⁣
⁣
Oh and did we mention, Dr. Asha’s first day here happened to be her first day back from mat leave. And well she’ll now be going back on mat leave for baby numero 2!!!! Congratulations Dr. Asha! We can’t wait to meet the new one soon💝
