JUNE 18, 2020

UPDATE: We are excited to announce that we are now open for non-urgent and elective dental appointments.

We have made all necessary changes to clinic protocols and PPE to keep our patients and team safe and healthy. Things will look and be different when you come in but the quality of care will be the same! We can’t wait to see you and look forward to taking care of your dental concerns.

We will be following the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia guidelines. We will be staying current with guidelines as they change. You will be contacted by the dental office prior to your scheduled appointment. Pre-screening questions will be asked, please note these are specific for dental treatment and do not include all COVID-19 symptoms.

Pre-screening questions:

SYMPTOMS

- Fever (greater than 38 degrees), feverish chills, sweats, muscle aches, light-headedness

- New or worsening cough

- Sore throat (difficulty swallowing)

- New or worsening runny nose

- New or worsening shortness of breath

- New or worsening headache

RISK FACTORS

- Close personal contact, without PPE, with a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 patient within the past 2 weeks

- Travel outside of Nova Scotia (by air, car, bus or otherwise) in the past 2 weeks

- Resides or works in a facilty with a known COVID-19 outbreak

When you arrive at our office please wait in your vehicle until notified to enter the office. We encourage you to wear a mask or face covering when entering the office. Upon initial entry to the office we will ask you to sanitize your hands. There will be a second COVID-19 screening sheet filled out when you arrive.

In an attempt to reduce gathering at the reception desk we will ask that you choose a touchless payment method (i.e. Credit card or etransfer).

Due to the recent confirmation of the first community transmission of Covid-19 the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia has mandated that ALL dental care not be conducted at any non-designated emergency clinics. Currently these clinics are located at Dalhousie University, IWK and the VG hospital. Please phone our office 902-861-3471 if you need to contact your dentist. We will be checking messages.

To our patients:
Your safety and the safety of our staff and community are our top priority. We are continuously monitoring the COVID pandemic and are ensuring that we make a huge effort to curb the spread of this virus. Our provincial dental board has advised that all non-essential and elective dental services be suspended. We are taking this recommendation seriously and are closing the clinic effective March 17, 2020 (Except in the case of emergency treatment set up directly with your dentist).

We will be closed for at least 2 weeks and will reassess at that time. If you have appointments scheduled within the next two weeks, these have been cancelled.

We will contact you to re-book.

Please check back regularly to our phone line for updates.

In case of emergencies please call our office and follow instructions to reach your dentist.
