The timing of an orthodontic treatment is crucial!
You or your child may or may not be ready for treatment. That is why we need to perform an initial examination of your teeth and bite. This will allow Dr. Pereira to better understand your or your child’s needs. Your first appointment will take about 45 minutes. Dr. P during this time will listen to all your concerns, answer all your questions and perform a thorough evaluation of your orthodontic issues.
Ideally, the first orthodontic assessment should happen when the child is 7 years old, when all the front permanent teeth (incisors) are in place. However, any age can be appropriate to start orthodontic treatment as long as you have healthy teeth and gums.
